UK Status Resident. Widespread and generally common throughout the British Isles as far north as Morayshire. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from a few sites across the county. Wingspan : M & F, 15-20mm. Confusion species C. insertana. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Many habitats. Foodplant A wide range of herbaceous plants. Lifestage data Leaf miner/spinning. Eggs laid on a leaf. Larva first mines a leaf then feeds externally from within a spinning by drawing fresh leaves together. Pupates in a folded leaf edge or in debris on the ground. |
